ARRANGEMENTS FOR PHAR LAP Stabled in Bam on Hill at Agua Paliente Course Given Pony Companion. AGUA CALTJENTE, Mexico, Feb. 1. Phar Lap completed his long journey, and is now at Agua Caliente. The Australian wonder horse made the "last stage in a palatial van after a journey fdown El Camino Real from Tanforan. The trip was made without incident. The horse arrived at 11 oclock with his trainer, Tommy Woodcock. A large crowd gathered around the van at stable "T," which was selected by his owner, D. J Davis, and which was in readiness for him. Woodcock asked that a hole be cut in the cement wall adjoining the next stall and a pony placed in it. Walter Dupee provided the pony, while track superintendent Crof-ton ordered workmen into action knocking down the partition. The Phar Lap stall is located on the "hill," and is the most distant barn from the track on the ground. Phar Lap made the last lap from the La Brea Stable at San Clemente, where he. spent the night He left the ranch at 7:40 in the morning. No delay was experienced crossing the border into Mexico. In addition to the trainer, Dr. William Nielsen, veterinarian, accompanied Phar Lap. He has been with the horse all the way from Sydney. E. J. Martin, Australian Jockey, also was in the van driven by A. S- Whitmore. One of the finest vans in the West brought Phar Lap down the coast route. It is the property of Ed Parry, and was recently acquired by the Golden West Stable. Woodcock said that R. Telford, part owner and trainer of Phar Lap, may not come over to train the champion, in which case he will have charge of all his trials. Phar Laps final leg of the journey began at 2 oclock in the morning. He reached San Clemente at 7 p. m. There a stall was ready for his occupancy. He enjoyed a comfortable rest, Woodcock declared.
