LEADING AMERICAN JOCKEYS Gilbert Elston had a great week, riding nine winners, and as a result displaced "Hank" Mills from second place among the countrys leading jockeys. Elston now boasts of thirty winners, one less than S. Coucci, the leader, who has thirty-one. Coucci added three to his total last week, and they saved first place for him. Mills kept pace with the leader, but Elstons nine successful mounts were too much, and the spectacular young rider, with only twenty-eight winning mounts, was relegated to third place. R. Martin tied Elstons total of nine, but he is well down the list with only eighteen winning mounts. Following are the records of the leading -American riders from January 1 up to and including the racing of last Sunday: Jockey. Mts. 1st. 2nd. 3rd. Unp. P.C.L.W.
