HAMILTON, showing good speed while saving ground, outlasted the others in the final drive. PLEASE, hard ridden, challenged gamely in the stretch and was wearing down the winner. BOBS PLAY, rated behind the pace, closed steadily in the closing quarter on the outside and would probably have won in another stride. SAN PRESTO moved up resolutely on the stretch turn, was unable to overhaul the leaders and was not persevered with in the last eighth. LEVAAL, prominent from the start, finished gamely and outlasted ATTIRE and VENNIE H. GAY ATTIRE, tardy at the start, moved up with a rush in "the first eighth and closed resolutely under punishment. VENNIE H. found his stride quickly, drew clear at once, but tired. STRAIT JACKET was unable to get up. WHITE THORN met interference at the start. COCK ROBIN gradually improved his position in the final three-eighths and was going resolutely at the end. CRUSHED STONE, an early factor, tired in the stretch. SCARLET BRIGADE closed a gap.
