HONEYMAN drew away slightly on the stretch turn and, continuing to race wide, withstood the challenge of SANTANDER. The latter also lost ground and withstood the drive gamely. WILD CHILD dropped back on the turn, then responded in the stretch. HALF DAY raced well. BEAU WRACK showed speed, but tired badly. TUFINUF had no mishaps. PURPLE ROBE was outrun. HELEN VIRGINIA, fractious at tht post, unseated her rider and J. Sylvester was substituted. KELSO moved up with a rush after a quarter, drew into command after entering the stretch and won in hand. SWEEP PAST, away slowly, worked her way up gradually on the outside and was racing gamely at the finish. MAVRO improved his position fast and with a big loss of ground on the stretch turn and held on fairly well. PAGAN LADDIE raced wide. BUNTHORNE closed a gap. TONEYS STAR tired in the drive. AUNT DEB, on the inside most of the way, showed speed, was forced back on the stretch turn and quit when clear. SUNVIEW showed early speed. BLACK SQUAW, making her first start, began fast, saved ground entering the stretch and, withstanding the challenge of MONKS BELA, drew away in the closing stages. The latter closed much ground in the first eighth, challenged gamely at the end of a quarter, but was not good enough. MOMS POLLY, a strong factor, saved ground all the way. SUNNY SIDEUP began fast, was close up for three-sixteenths, then tired. SUNNY FLOWER closed resolutely. BELLO SONO dropped out of it after an eighth. AUDRY N. began slowly and raced very wide on the turn. The latter, allowed to drop out of it and far back on ths turn, where he lest much ground, closed with a rush and lost a tough race. JOURNEYS END, under strong urging after three-eighths, held on gamely. ADSUM closed fast. HIGH FOOT showed speed, but fell lame. CHU CHU quit. PROSE AND POETRY began slowly, was forced wide all the way, moved up after meeting interference on the stretch turn, then tired. GLASTONBURY forced tho early pace, held the lead, but tired in tho closing eighth. BAR HUNTER had no mishaps. COMSTOCKERY tired in the stretch. BELEN, fractious at the post, lost much ground, but closed resolutely. STOP GAP raced wide. TITUS, allowed to. drop far out of it, failed to respond in the stretch while in closa quarters. ORLOFF, much used forcing the pace after three-eighths, saved ground in the stretch and held on well. RUNAR, given a hustling ride and showing speed, maintained a good pace to the stretch, where she tired. PRINCE RENO, in close quarters early, raced wide in the final five-eighths and closed ground. PEASANT MAID finished fast. ORMONTIME moved up weakly on the stretch turn. VOLE pulled up lame. LADY MARSCH had a rough race. POLLYWOG, knocked back in the first eighth, saved ground and, after closing much ground, outlasted HAPPY LAD. The latter was forced wide on the lower turn. ED REESE began slowly. POT FULL had rough race. MAD A. was in close quarters early. EBONY PRINCE and JUDAS showed early speed.
