KENTUCKY TURF NOTES $ ; $ R. M. Eastmans Black Mammy and Mrs. Swikards Last Second were vanned to the Headley farm to be turned out. Walter Taylor was given stall , room at Douglas Park for fifteen head of horses he is training for F. A. Carreaud, which were campaigned in Florida this winter. John McShane brought in four head of horses to the Downs, which he wintered at Latonia. Two three-year-olds, Bob Custer and Coletown; Harvest Sun, a four-year-old, and Little Chip, a six-year-old, will race under his colors this season. C. H. Ferguson has the old campaigner Kentucky Ace, the three-year-olds Major Ben and Fireflash, the latter a Kentucky Oaks candidate, in training at the Downs, while four juveniles will make up his racing stable this year. The two-year-olds are Threat, a chestnut colt, by Nocturnal Dame Thunder; Meteoric, chestnut colt, by Nocturnal Moon Dove; Fastidious, black colt, by Nocturnal Tidy, and a black filly; Bet-tina H., by Nocturnal Our Betsy. Trainer Jim Moody, of the Shady Brook Farm Stable, reports the death of the bay filly foal from Caroline Carter at the farm, two days after its birth. The filly was sired by Actuary, the leading stallion at Shady Brook Farm. Willie Crump has had confirmed the names for his three two-year-olds, which are Head Play, chestnut colt, by My Play Red Head; Baggage Miss, chestnut filly, by Bagenbaggage Trenid, and Craigen Lady, chestnut filly, by Craigangower Eleanor C. Crump is still light enough to gallop horses and he is in the saddle every day exercising one or more of his charges. Jockey Albert Casnover, who rode for L. F. Leary last year, has joined up forces with C. H. Ferguson, who has his horses at the Downs. Albert has ridden in South America, Cuba and most of the tracks in the United States. i i . i ,
