WHEATLEY AND BELAIR PLANS Stables Horses to Be Shipped to Bowie From Miami Kelsay Reports to Fitzsimmons. NEW YORK, N. Y., March 15. The horses of the Wheatley and Belair Stud Stables, which raced at the recent Hialeah Park meeting, will be shipped from the Miami course to Bowie. George Tappen, who was in charge of the Florida string, will take them to the Maryland course, where they will race until the New York season opens April 16. James Fitzsimmons, head trainer of the Wheatley, Belair and Phipps horses, which are wintering at Aqueduct, wired jockey Tommy Malley to return from Miami immediately to help train the horses here. Malley will leave the Florida city tomorrow. Jockey "Bill" Kelsay, who will do the heavy weight riding for Fitzsimmons, already has returned north and has reported at Aqueduct. Hank Mills, the youthful and sensational apprentice who was signed to ride the horses in Fitzsimmons care this summer, will have to undergo a minor operation on his nose before reporting for duty. He is expected to be on hand at the end of this week. Jockey Hubert Callahan, who will ride some of the horses trained by Max Hirsch this year, reported to his contract employer at Belmont Park. Callahan is recovering from a leg injury, received at Hialeah Park last month. He expects to be able to gallop horses by next week. "Pete" Walls, who also rides for Hirsch, is back at his Long Island home after a winter in Florida. He will report to Hirsch within the next few days. Because of the severe cold and high wind ruling in this section, none of the trainers on the three Long Island tracks sent their charges out to work this morning. The tracks at Belmont Park, Aqueduct and Jamaica were in good condition, despite the weather, which was as cold as has been experienced here this winter.
