NEW YORK TURF NOTES s Among the recent arrivals at Belmont Park was Thomas McCreery, who was in charge of a division of the Howe Stable at the recent Hialeah Park meeting. He has resumed the training of the string that was left in charge of his foreman. Cambal, the Kentucky Derby candidate, from the stable of Mrs. George U. Harris, is an impressive looking individual this winter. Since being retired into winter quarters at Belmont Park this son of Campfire, from Celiva, by Celt, has grown and filled out appreciably. He now stands fifteen and one-half hands in his racing plates. John Hastings, who trains for Mrs. Harris, recently returned from Miami, where he raced a division of the Brookmeade Stable horses, and has resumed active training of Cambal, which he left in charge of his foreman. Hastings was well pleased with the condition of Cambal, which was slow to come to hand last year and showed his best form over a distance.
