MARYLAND TURF NOTES I Frank Bray, efficient trainer of the Brandon Stable, is pointing Brandon Mint, star of the stable of twelve horses he will race at Bowie for the ,000 Rowe Memorial Handicap, mile and seventy yards race listed for April 5. Due to the abolishing of seven furlong races here, together with the death of James Rowes son last fall, race secretary Joseph McLennan has changed the name of the James Rowe Memorial Handicap to Rowe Memorial Handicap and increased the distance to a mile and seventy yards. The latter distance will make for a much more interesting race as it will start and finish in front of the grandstand. Horsemen are advised not to ship to Eowie unless they have received notification from track superintendent Pending that they had m been granted stalls. There is ample stable room at Laurel and Marlboro, which is only six miles from here via excellent automobile roads, and horsemen who fail to secure quarters will not be put to any unnecessary hardships if they are forced to van from nearby tracks. General manager Joseph B. Boyle sends word from his Baltimore offices hat there is a big demand for private boxes at Bowie, which makes it look as if the Southern Maryland Agricultural Associations approaching meeting is going over with a bang.
