JUDAN began fast, shook off TRANSMIT after reaching the turn, bore out entering the stretch, but held on well after being overtaken by RITA ANN and was up to win in the closing strides. BLOW FLY, unable to keep up, lost much ground on the turn, worked her way up in the stretch and finished fastest of all. RITA ANN showed speed from the start, raced wide throughout and tired after taking the lead. AUSTERE moved up fast on the outside entering the stretch and raced resolutely thereafter. BLUE WAY held on well. BAG O ROSES was in close quarters on the turn. WISE GRETCHEN tired badly in the final eighth. GORGEOUS was outrun. ELKHART saved much ground on the turn, wore down GOLDEN LIGHT under pressure and, despite excessive punishment, held on gamely, just failing to last. MARLENE lacked room near the turn, went to the outside in the stretch and closed fastest of all. GOLDEN LIGHT showed speed under hustling riding, then tired. POLYP held on gamely. RUN ON, away slowly, raced wall. RUTH M. showed early speed. DOROTHY HICKS, outrun, raced wide on the stretch turn. The latter showed keen speed, was much used racing TOMBEREAU into submission and tired in the closing eighth. GETTIN EVEN raced wide and closed fast. SARiETTA, away fast and, showing her best speed, drew into a long lead quickly and, under energetic riding, maintained her speed gamely and was taken under restraint in the last fifty yards. CHIMNEY SWEEP, lightly hustled from the start, failed to threaten the winner, but was much the best of the others TWEENY had no mishaps. BUSTED was forced back on the turn.
