BUYS CONTRACT ON COUCCI NEW YORK, N. Y., May 26.— At private terms the Greentree Stable purchased the contract on jockey Silvio Coucci. which was held by the Coburn brothers. Coucci is an apprentice, and during the winter rode into prominence at Agua Caliente. Since his appearance in the East he has continued his phenomenal riding and has attracted a legion of followers. No price was made public, but it is understood that the consideration was a big one. Three years and five months remain of the original term of the contract. Coucci is a youngster of Italian parentage and hails from the Bronx. He was employed by James Butler for a short period before becoming affiliated with the Coburn stable.
