LUCKY STONE outbroke the others and drew away into a commanding lead in the first eighth and hung on well after withstanding CHATHAM QUEEN. The latter moved up resolutely on the stretch turn, but tired when put to a drive and just lasted long enough to withstand FLY FISHER. The latter began flat-footed, but closed a big gap and was wearing down the leaders. OAT BOX tired badly and was eased up. Scratched 71529 Buddy Felix, 110. MARION ORMONT took the lead with a rush and, after opening up a commanding lead, was taken in hand, but was tiring at the end and driving to the limit to withstand ISOSTASY. The latter, very slow to get going and badly outrun for half a mile, was taken to the outside of the leaders entering the stretch and closed with a rush and would have won in a few more strides. LOOKBY was a factor all the-way. HYPO-LUXO quit under the whip.
