ORMOND WINS AUSTRIAN DERBY The Austrian Derby, run for the first time under the auspices of the newly-founded Vienna Rennverein, which body has Prince Ulrick Kinsky as its chairman, was won by Baron Alphonse Von Rothschilds Ormond, the choice in a field of eleven starters. Reck, winner of the Czeckosloyakian Derby, was second, and Lisi, the only filly in the field, another Czekoslovakian invader, was third. This race was run June 5 at Vienna. Run over the true Derby distance of one mile and a half, the first prize was worth ,000. Ormond was 15 to 10 in the totalisator. Ormond, bred by his owner, is a son of the French Derby winner, Dagor, from Made in England, by Son-In-Law, from Sylvia, by Cylgad. In his previous race he won in a canter from a field of ten, including Diadal winner of the Prize of Alag, the Budapest equivalent of the English Two Thousand Guineas, in the Vienna Trial Stakes.
