EQUIPOISE PLACED ON TOP Assigned Crusher of 129 Pounds for Stars and Stripes Handicap at Arlington Park. ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, 111., June 29. C. V. Whitneys great four-year-old Equi-i poise was rated the outstanding member of the probable Stars and Stripes Handicap field by Joseph McLennan, handicapper for; the Arlington Park Jockey Club. McLennan allotted Equipoise 129 pounds for the mile and a furlong Fourth of July feature or six pounds ahead of Gallant Knight Audley Farms star router, which will not be a starter because of lameness. Equipoise is rated an even ten pounds above Jamestown for the 0,000 attraction, although two years ago in the great Futurity at Belmont when both were carrying 130 pounds, the George D. Widener hopeful was victorious by a head. White Clover II., winner of the Suburban Handicap, has been assigned 116 pounds and Polydorus 115 pounds. Clock Tower must carry 117 if he starts, while the impost for Plucky Play was 113 pounds, for Spanish Play, 112, and for Risque, 113. McLennan placed Twenty Grand one pound ahead of Equipoise, but the Green-tree Stable champion is not due to race until later in the summer.
