BRIGHT CHESTNUT quit. RED CINDERS, under pressure throughout, labored badly in the stretch. WINONA LADY, placed on the outside at the start, saved much ground the final half mile and was best of the others. ALTO had no mishaps. PIECEMEAL, under rushing tactics from the start, saved much ground, but quit badly after three-quarters. ST. NAZAIRE bore out at the first turn and had speed for three-quarters.
