JAMAICA TURF NOTES $ e Charles Casey was among the arrivals yesterday for a brief visit. The Fasig-Tipton Company will hold a sale of horses in training during the Empire City meeting. "Faro Bank Jack" Carroll, one of the veteran characters on the New York tracks, was admitted to the Jewish Hospital, Prospect Place, Brooklyn, yesterday, suffering from a stomach disorder. Empire City stable application blanks were distributed yesterday by Tom Thorp. A message was received from Lakewood, N. J., denying the report that jockey Paul Kefover had died. The message was signed by Mrs. Kefover. Jockey L. McAtee will be. an absentee from the saddle for the next week. He is laid up with an infected leg. Jockey F. Coltiletti was suspended for three days by the starter for disobedience at the post. G. L. Arvin reports that Sweep Pic was badly lamed in his race and will be away from racing. T. W. Murphy, former trainer of the Greentree Stable, arrived from Syracuse for a brief visit. A. W. Koivula arrived at Jamaica from Maryland with five horses. Jockey H. Kneessi was suspended for three days by the starter for disobedience at the post. Thirty-four yearlings, owned by J. E. Widener, arrived at Belmont Park from Kentucky.
