HUNT RACING NEXT SATURDAY NEW YORK, N. Y, May 16.— Secretary H. A. Buck of the United Hunts Racing Association has reported a liberal response to the five events down for decision next Saturday. Four of the programmed races are for chasers, with a flat race of a mile and a half. And this one day meeting will be conducted over a course never before used by the Association, but one of the best and most picturesque to be found on Long Island. This new course is on the estate of the late Hugh A. Murray, now the property of Mrs. Frederick Coudert, Jr. It is adjacent to Roslyn and comprises three courses. There is a post and rail course of a mile and a furlong, a brush course and the flat course. They circle each other with the post and rail on the outside. A gently sloping hill affords an excellent view of the horses at every stage of each course and there is a firm turf over which to race. The course is regulation in every respect and the brush in particular is commendable. Each is a bank topped by a hedge that is a planted natural brush. While the jumps are stiff, they are up to standard and afford an excellent test for the jumpers. The timber course has been built of sturdy rails that will compel jumping and the flat course has long, sweeping turns that should admit of high speed. The arrangements that have been made for the day of racing will have a number of motor busses to transport patrons from both Roslyn and Manhattan.
