ENTER SWIVEL IN CLASSIC Adolphe Pons Speedy Filly Among Nominations for Arlingtons Big Fixture. Swivel, Adolphe Pons speedy filly, which was prevented from participating in the Kentucky Derby and Preakness by illness, will have her chance to meet the outstanding three-year-old colts in the Arlington Classic, for which event her nomination was received here by the Arlington Park Jockey Club. The daughter of Swift and Sure, from Toddle, distinguished herself last fall by winning the Pimlico Futurity at the expense of many other outstanding juveniles, and she qualified handsomely this spring for her early three-year-old engagements by a clean-cut victory at Havre de Grace, only to suffer a fever and be thrown into temporary retirement. Owner Pons is certain Swivel is superior to all others of her age and he has instructed trainer J. R. Pryce to point the filly especially for the Classic. Owner Pons also nominated Projectile for the Classic. This colt was victorious in the Thomas Curran Memorial Stakes and the Endurance Handicap as a juvenile and is rated among the first flight of three-year-olds. Other Pons nominations to Arlington Park stakes were the colts Discovery and Saunter, in the Hyde Park Stakes. Discovery is one of the first foals of Display, the "iron horse of racing."
