I PIMLICO TURF NOTES 1 o « Rex Cooper is the latest to reserve stabling quarters at Mount Royal in Montreal and will ship from Timonium Wednesday. His son, Reggie Cooper, who has been riding during the Sportsmans Park meeting, has been notified to leave for Montreal. Edward J. Brerman, who will serve as secretary during the Hagerstown meeting, reports many reservations for stalls at the Hub city plant. Condition books for the twenty-eight day meeting to be staged at Rockingham Park beginning June 20, made their appearance among the horsemen now centered in the Old Line state. Mortimer Mahoney, major-domo of the mutuel department at Bowie, was able to visit the Southern Maryland course and pronounced the plant in first class condition. Flower beds have been placed in the infield, while landscaping artists have brightened the plant up considerably. He also reports that reservations for boxes have been pouring in heavily. Twenty-three thousand programs were sold by vendors at Pimlico Saturday. Trainer Wm. J. Norton was fined 0 for failure to obtain permission to scratch the horse Mack Sennett in the fourth race on Saturday, May 13, 1933. Jockey J. Gilbert leaves for New York along with the Glen Riddle Farms horses Wednesday. He will be accompanied by H. D. Cox, who has done excellent work in selecting the lads mounts. J. H. Wilson, agent of the R. M. Eastman estate, is endeavoring to have Gilbert handle Charley O. in the American Derby and Arlington Classic. George Jessel, which started in Mondays steeplechase, carried 146 instead of 141 as sent out in the overnight entries.
