UNITED HUNTS MEETING TODAY NEW YORK, N. Y., May 19.— New York will have its first steeplechase racing of the year down on Long Island this afternoon. It is the one-day meeting of the United Hunts Racing Association, to be conducted on the Hugh Murray estate near Roslyn. Secretary H. A. Buck has prepared a card of five events that have attracted a notable list of entries. The big feature of the afternoon is the Bowman Steeplechase Handicap. This is a memorial to the late John McEntee Bowman, former president of the association, and it carries a 00 challenge cup. It is over two miles of the brush course, and eighteen nominations have been made for the running. The Hugh Murray Steeplechase, over the same course, has eighteen named and several of those in the Bowman also enjoy this nomination.
