AGREE ON DISTANCE OF RACE NEW YORK, N. Y., May 19.— The intimation from Maryland that Sylvester W. Labrot, owner of Tred Avon, which meets C. V. Whitneys Top Flight in a special race at Belmont Park on Memorial Day, would prefer a test of one mile and a sixteenth to a one-mile gallop, as originally planned, drew an immediate response from the latter sportsman. It was announced today that owners Labrot and Whitney had agreed to the longer distance. The weight also has been changed. Instead of 118 pounds, it will be 114 pounds each. On the scale Top Flight, a four-year-old, will give Tred Avon, a five-year-old, one pound. •
