1 MOUNT ROYAL TURF NOTES : s W. H. Denham wired from Bowie requesting reservations for a carload of horses which will include the handicap mare Bubola, property of Mrs. W. H. Denham. A meeting of the members of the Province of Quebec Racing. Association will be held at Blue Bonnets race course on Friday, May 27. Apprentice jockeys will be entitled to the five pounds allowance for one year, or 365 days after they win their first race under the rules of racing of the Quebec Racing Association. Frank J. Kearns will return to Jamaica tonight and arrange to send a carload of horses for Montreal racing at Blue Bonnets. Jockey S. Bullcrof t, under contract to P. Delaney returns to the saddle today, after a two year lay-off. Lieut.-Col. E. C. Thurston will be director in charge of the amateur rider races non-betting which will be offered during the coming Blue Ronnets meeting. Preparation of the steeplechase course is nearing completion. Stanley Gillespie, an official on various courses, will return to New York after a two-day visit to Mount Royal. H. D. Monroe, secretary of the current meeting and also in charge of affairs at Rockingham Park, Salem, N. H., where racing begins June 21, is fairly flooded with applications for stabling there and he also reports that cottage rental has advanced by leaps and bounds. Cottages that rented for 0 a month are now being quoted at 00. Among the stables recently "applying for stalls are C. V. Whitney, with seventeen, including Clotho and Banderlog; Justa Farm, with ten; William H. Gallagher, eighteen or twenty, and Mose Shapoff, with a string including Col. Hatfield, .winner pf the Louisiana Derby at New Orleans. It may be necessary to build 300 or 400 more stalls.
