1 JAMAICA TURF NOTES 1 $ $ Steeplechase jockey McGuiness suffered a broken collar bone while schooling at Belmont Park Wednesday morning. L. Stoddard, an amateur rider, was knocked out by a fall from a horse while schooling Wednesday morning. He suffered no broken bones and later in the morning stated that he was all right. Harry Mencke, for several years right-hand man for Tom Trulis, has opened a new track kitchen at Belmont Park for the facility of horsemen and stable attaches. Steeplechase devotees journeyed to Belmont Park Tuesday morning to witness the public schooling over the main course. Among those who were on hand to witness some of the trials were Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Hitchcock, Mr. and Mrs. F. Ambrose Clark, Mrs. James Austin and her daughters, Mrs. P. McKim, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Durant, Rigan McKiiiney, A. C. and "Pete" Bostwick and many others. Jockeys Pete Walls and Laverne Fator have decided to remain for the opening of Belmont Park instead of riding at Toronto. Jockey H. Mills was a visitor and watched the running of the different races from the ground. He showed no ill effects from his fall from Iseult. Trainer Eddie Bennett has decided to start the Anall Stables Larranaga in the Toboggan Handicap on Saturday. Jockey Lee Humphries arrived from the West and met Mr. and Mrs. Silas Mason in New York in reference to a contract for this summer. The entry blanks for the Empire City Derby, Empire City Handicap, the Eastview Stakes and the Yonkers Handicap, with ,000 added each, were distributed among horsemen Wednesday. These fixtures close on Thursday, June 8.
