EARL POOL HAS BROKEN RIB BOWIE, Md., May 24. After donning silks to ride The Bailiff for S. W. Labrot in the first race, jockey Earl Pool succumbed to pains and after being examined by Dr. W. B. Dalton it was discovered that the rider was suffering from a broken rib on his left side. Pool rode Tuesday but believes that the mishap occurred when he fell while trying to stop Gold Prize from running off on Monday.
