OWEN MARTINEZ, kept close to the leaders, came through on the inside of INDIANOLE entering tha stretch, responded to hard pressure and wore down THE BAILIFF. The latter, forced to race on the outside, shook off INDIANOLE and, taking a short lead, held on stubbornly. CAMPAGNA dropped back leaving the " back stretch, but came again in the stretch.
