KILL PARI-MUTUEL BILL BOSTON, Mass., May 24. Pari-mutuel betting on horse races was defeated in the house of representatives this afternoon. While preparing to vote on enactment of a bill allowing a referendum on the subject, the house suddenly adopted a motion made by representative Martin Hays of Brighton, striking out the enactment clause of the bill, which automatically killed it. The vote was on roll call, 128 to 94.
