JESSIE DEARS FAST WORK Daughter of Prince Pal Works Mile at Homewood in 1:42 Oaks Eligible. HOMEWOOD, 111., May 24. Jessie Dear, slashing daughter of Prince Pal and Ivory, served warning that she may have much to say about things in Saturdays renewal of the Illinois Oaks, Washington Parks big feature for three-year-old fillies, when she worked a mile at Washington Park in 1:42 this morning. It was one. of the standout moves of the morning and so easily accomplished by the F. C. McAtee filly that horsemen who witnessed it are quite satisfied that she will be a very strong, if not successful bidder for Oaks honors. Due to a minor injury sustained a week before the Kentucky Oaks, the McAtee filly did not start in that closing day feature at Churchill Downs and Saturdays race gives her her first chance in Oaks competition. In the Washington Park race, which will test the young mares at one mile and one-eighth, Jessie Dear will encounter the Shandon Farms At Top, second to Barn Swallow in the Kentucky Oaks; Bright Bubble, owned by S. Furst; A. A. Baronis Bamboula; H. P. Headleys Technique and one or two others. In addition to the Oaks, Saturdays racing will include the Congress Hotel Handicap, for three-year-olds and over, three-quarters, and the Del Prado Purse, for two-year-olds. The latter is expected to draw the entries of a number of the more promising youngsters and they will meet at five-eighths, while the Congress Hotel Handicap should engage all the best sprinters, including No More, Mr. Sponge, Isaiah, and others seen in action in the Washington Park Handicap on the opening day of the meeting.
