RIVERSIDE TURF NOTES I 4 Apprentice jockey L. Hendricks, who rode with some success during the winter at New Orleans, arrived from Bainbridge Park. Hendricks is under contract to R. Scoville. Apprentice jockey J. Jacobs, under contract to B. C. Keller, rode the first winner of his career when he brought Dr. Billy home in, the sixth race Saturday. Apprentice F. Springer, leading rider at Tanforan this spring, was an arrival from that point. Springer is under contract to Charlie McCroan. Willie Garner, making his first appearance in the saddle at Riverside Park, Saturday, celebrated his debut by riding three winners. H. 5. Bengston, who was promoted to assistant judge for this meeting, suffered a nervous break down Saturday and is confined to a hospital at Excelsior Springs. Owing to the three-quarters chute being made on new ground, the recent heavy rains have made the chute so deep and holding, it was decided to run the first six races Monday at the Futurity course distance, instead of six furlongs as sent out in entries. Word was received here Monday from judge John T. Ireland at Bainbridge Park that jockey W. Day was reinstated by him. Day was set down at Bainbridge Park June 13, 1932.
