FLEAM AND MATA HARI HOMEWOOD 111 June 19 There is a distinct possibility that William Woodwards Fleam perhez3 best of the eastern three yearold fillies will be sent to Washington Park to do battle with Mata Hari in the Illinois Oaks Washington Park officials have communicated with William Woodward and expect a reply Wednesday There is no reason why Fleam should not be sent for the Oaks as she is to be campaigned throughout the Arlington meeting and will be coming to Chicago within a week anyway Fleam anywayFleam won the Acorn Stakes at Belmont in May beating the best band of eastern threeyearold fillies that has been assem ¬ bled up to that stage of the present season but was beaten by Lady Reigh in the Coach ¬ ing Club American Oaks at Belmont a few weeks ago Yesterday Fleam furnished a surprise by beating Lady Reigh by nine lengths in the Flight Purse at a mile at Aqueduct Among the others Fleam de ¬ feated were Col E R Bradleys good four yearold Barn Swallow
