furnishing the strongest con ¬ tention With much the worst of the weights Dust Girl which shouldered 105 pounds or two and onehalf pounds under the winners impost made a valiant effort to prevent the winner from extending his string of victories but eventually went down by a length and onehalf onehalfDust Dust Girl was five lengths before Sir Ten which many regarded as the one likely to give the favored Mikel mare the most trouble and there was an eightlength gap between Sir Ten and Regardless which saved fourth money moneyDUST DUST GIRLS CHALLENGE CHALLENGETed Ted King had the winner close after Re ¬ gardless as the Brentwood Stable gelding held the early lead under sufferance and after going to the lead leaving the back stretch she coasted around the turn in easy command As she slightly increased her margin entering the stretch Dust Girl set ¬ tled into a determined challenge that forced King to briskly shake up the Mikel star in the final furlong where Sir Ten which had entered the stretch in second place fell back fast fastWith With a determined challenge in the last of the six furlongs Renaissance racing un ¬ der E Schwartz colors and the choice in the betting wore down the aged but light footed Flag Bearer in time to finish in front of the small field that furnished the first contest Flag Bearer set all the pace and aided by clever rating held on in rather Chappel Brothers stable when Brilliant Dee was victorious over a small band of plater twoyearolds in the fourth race It was a rather lucky score as the T C Worden representative and favorite Jewelry
