DISCOUNT, steadied close to ROCK JUG in the early stages, responded well when shaken up and, wearing down the pacemaker, outlasted LINESMAN. The latter, close up throughout, finished resolutely. ROCK JUG began fast, moved into a safe lead, but tired. FAINE improved her position on the outside. CRYSTAL BEACH was not good enough after racing prominently in the early stages. BABE GAIETY, in close quarters early, saved ground on the stretch turn and held en well. MESTALLUP tired after challenging in the final quarter. KINGSWOOD and SANTA CREST quit badlv.
