DADE PARTS HORSE COLONY More Than One Hundred Horses Stabled at Tri-State Course — Opening on August 4. HENDERSON, Ky., July 10.— More than one hundred thoroughbreds have already arrived for the summer meeting of the Dade Park Jockey Club, which will have its inaugural Saturday, August 4, and continue for twenty-six days, the longest meeting in the history of the track. By the end of the week it is expected that at least 200 horses will be quartered at the track, something very unusual this far in advance of the opening date. With the closing of the meetings at Fairmount, Latonia and in Canada, horsemen appear to be anxious to ship to the western Kentucky track to allow their horses a few weeks of rest before starting the next campaign. The indications are that the Dade Park racing fans will see some of the best stables in training at the coming meeting. A large number of two-year-olds from the Blue Grass section of Kentucky are in training here, a majority of the youngsters, of course, never having been to the races. The trainers are availing themselves of the use of the new starting gate in schooling their charges to get away from the post in a hurry. Lester Yager, general manager at Dade Park, says he has never seen prospects brighter for a successful meeting. «
