CONTINUE TO USE OPTIONS Syracuse Management Uses Betting Methor Despite Albany Warning — Claim System Is Legal. SYRACUSE, N. Y., July 12.— In the face of a warning issued today in Albany, the Onondaga Racing Association continued to operate the share options system of wagering at the state Fair Grounds track here and announced that the meeting would continue to the scheduled close, Saturday. The attorney generals office is said to have forwarded to the local sheriffs office and to the district attorney orders that the system be stopped at once. Neither the district attorney nor the sheriff were in Syracuse today. The day was officially designated Syracuse Chamber of Commerce Day and admission to the grounds was free. A large turn out came out for the sport, attracted no doubt by the courtesies extended by the management. Herbert Bayard Swope, chairman of the state racing commission, wired the attorneys of the local association to stop the system of betting at once. The attorneys stated they would take the fight to a high court if necessary and have assured the local management that their method is within the scope of the law. The mayor of Syracuse, Roland B. Marvin, was at the races today. •
