BAHR COMPANY WINS SUIT Federal Court in Baltimore Rules Bowie Organization Infringed on Starting Gate Patents. A consent decree has been entered in the United States District Court at Baltimore, Md., in the matter of an infringement suit based on the Bahr starting gate patents, and which was brought against the Southern Maryland Agricultural Association by the Bahr Starting Gate Corporation of Chicago, owner of the Bahr patents. This patent infringement suit was filed against the Southern Maryland Agricultural Association because these people were using a starting gate at Bowie very similar to the Bahr gate without any authority from the Bahr Starting Gate Corporation. In the consent decree which was entered in the federal court at Baltimore, all the Bahr patents were admitted to be valid and infringed, and the Southern Maryland Agricultural Association agreed to pay substantial royalties to compensate for past damages and has further agreed to pay additional royalties on similar gates used in the future.
