ALTENA soon took a short lead and, drawing away from CHAZZAN after entering the stretch, was an easy winner. BTUGHT KNOT improved his position steadily to finish with courage. CHAZZAN, close up in the early stages, tired in the last eighth. LEONIE was in close quarters while racing on the inside and showed a fair effort. NO EXCUSE was unable to keep up in the early part, but saved ground in the stretch to finish fairly well. NIGHT FLASH and WHIP SNAKE were done after going a half mile. BEVERLY HILLS beat the others away and, soon taking a good lead, was never fully extended, winning -with speed in reserve. SUN LIBERTY was closest to the winner from the start and raced gamely to the end, but was not good enough. IMLAY was in close quarters after the start and was outrun for the first half mile, then closed ground. BONYNGE tired in the stretch. DONNA JEAN was in close quarters around the far turn. GLODAZZ was close to the pace in the early part and, coming strongly to pass PETRINA B. in the stretch, drew out to an easy win in the last eighth. LADY LOUELLA improved her position gradually and, at home in the going, staged a strong finish. HOPE LORING was in close quarters on the back stretch and again on the far turn, where his rider took up sharply and fell back to last place, but came again in the stretch and was racing well at the end. PETRINA B. dashed to the front in the first quarter to open up a good lead, but tired badly in the stretch and was probably short. STROLLING MISS had a rough trip, being in close quarters on the stretch turn and again in the stretch. LADY WAITE broke well, but appeared to dislike the going and could not keep, up. SICKLEBILL, meeting with little opposition, went to the front when ready to open up a good lead and had no trouble snowing the way to the end. HIGH MAN, racing as if best, broke well, but was permitted to drop many lengths back of the field in the back stretch, made a good move on the outside around the stretch turn, but was immediately taken to the rail in the deepest going and was in rather close quarters cn the inside of BONAGAI, but finished full of run. BILL ANDY opened up a long lead while setting the pace, but tired and bore out near the end. IDA S. showed improvement and was well up all the way. PANIC BLUES was not good enough.
