1 LOUISVILLE TURF NOTES Racing secretary William H. Shelley hopes to accommodate horsemen with copies of the first condition book for the coming Downs meeting by Tuesday. His copy, except for purse amounts, completed several days ago, secretary Shelley had only to insert purse values after the spring schedule had been determined yesterday, before turning it over to the printer. John Stockier is the latest addition to the battery of dockers dividing their time between the two local tracks. He wintered in California and stopped off at Hot Springs on the way here. Worthy Polly, owned by Lou Anger, dropped a dead foal at E. K. Thomas farm. According to advices from Latonia, George Land has twenty-six, all owned by J. B. Respess, in training there. A division of the stable is slated to campaign here. Jockey Eddie Arcaro has reported to trainer B. B. Williams, of Warren Wrights Calumet Farm Stable at Calumet Farm, near Lexington. Nellie Flag, leading filly candidate for the Kentucky Derby, is the star of the stable. As a two-year-old she won five of ten engagements. The Kentucky Jockey Club stakes, Selima Stakes and Matron Stakes fell to this daughter of American Flag. Black Hat, Skip It, Laddie Stone, Calumet Dick and Some Bull are other Calumet Derby eligibles. William Irvine, who trained for the late Sylvester W. Labrot, has eight head, the property of William E. Schmidt, Chicago patron, who races his horses under the nom de course of Superior Stable, at Churchill Downs. Comprising the stable are the two-year-olds Holl Image, a gelding by Hollister, Hay Image, a colt by Judge Hay; Royal Image, a filly by Royal Minstrel; Which Image, a filly by Whichone; Jock Image, a filly by Jock, and Black Image, a daughter of Black Servant, and the three-year-old Shalot. Another arrival was the Keene Dainger-field string of fourteen which came from Lexington. Ten are juveniles. Capt. E. P. Moore, formerly a member of the Louisville police department, purchased Kitty OConnell, Ekrup and Mayseibert, the latter two juveniles from L. E. Coogle, and turned them over to Dan Lenahan. Former jockey Charles "Spec" Haines-worth yesterday had Mrs. Hollis Ryders Blackbirder out for his first stiff gallop since the Derby eligible arrived here from Miami. Price Sallee reported that Spring Station went wrong in his, last workout at Lexington and has been sent to Brookdale Farm. As it was work-day for Bluebeard the stables Derby hopeful and others in Clyde Phillips division of the W. R. Coe stable, Hugh Fontaine, chief of the Coe training staff, was down from the farm yesterday. If he cares for the mount, Charles Kurt-zinger can take his chances at ten per cent of the Kentucky Derby stake with Jouett Shouses Weston. Kurtsinger has not accepted as yet. Norris Royden was here yesterday in the interests of the Washington Park stakes. Nomination blanks for the Homewood track stakes came off the press several days ago.
