NEW JERSEY BILL DEAD TRENTON, N. J., April 23. The possibility of legalized betting on horse races in New Jersey appears a remote one since the defeat late last night, for the second time during the current session of the assembly, of the resolution of Assemblyman Altman. This resolution, designed to remove from the state constitution the amendment prohibiting such betting, was voted down 32 to 26. The resolution, which was passed at last years session of the legislature, would have been referred to the people at the fall election, if it had been approved by the present, session. It is feared now that the measure will not be revived.
