BRIGHT AND EARLY, away nicely and hustled to the front soon after the start, held on strongly after reaching the home stretch, was inclined to swerve, and interfered with CLARKSDALE all during the final eighth. CLARKSDALE moved up fast on the outside to reach the pacemaker, met with interference during the final drive, but held on determinedly. JUBILEE JIM raced close up until reaching the home stretch, then tired. DIXIE DORA was under stout pressure, but could not better her position. "FLOWER SHOW lacked early speed and could not enter a forward position. LITTLE MIRACLE showed a good effort while racing on the outside. SURRY was in trouble early and could not enter contention. NIGHT SPRITE, rated back off the pace for the first half mile while on the outside, challenged strongly- I when reaching the home stretch, was steered through on the inside of CURRANTS midway of the home stretch and was up in the last sixteenth. ACAUTAW, slower than usual to settle into his stride, circled his field and closed in resolute fashion. CURRANTS showed good speed to set a fast pace, bore out slightly entering the home stretch, but held on well for the final drive. DANCING CLOUD was going strongly in the final stages. ROUSTABOUT, nicely handled and a keen factor in the early racing, responded willingly to engage ALL FORLORN when approaching the home stretch, took command at the final eighth post, then came out gradually under pressure. ALL FORLORN showed high speed while setting the pace, saved ground and held on gamely after being displaced. LADFIELD, permitted to drop out of contention soon after the start, raced up between horses midway of the turn, was carried very wide, then closed with a belated rush. BRAINS followed CAERLEON closely, took command at the final turn, but faltered after reaching the home stretch. MINTANA was jammed leaving the back stretch, recovered and closed gamely. STANDOUT bettered his position stoutly in the last half mile, came through on the inside entering the home stretch and closed gamely. DARKLING was badly blocked when attempting to come through on the inside leaving the back stretch, recovered and finished stoutly. PRETTY WISE was a stout factor most of the trip and held on well. COUSIN GEORGE raced welj-placed, but failed to rally in the closing test. WALKALONG broke sluggishly out of hand and had no chance. JUSTA TEACHER quit badly.
