SENTENCE RELIEF GRAFTER Edward J. Nix was sentenced to serve eight months in the House of Correction for conspiracy in connection with relief frauds. Nix was former head clerk of the Oakwood station of the Illinois Emergency Relief Commission. At the time of his conviction, it was disclosed that grocery and other supply orders had been cashed by the relief commission through connivance of relief employes and outside concerns. It was estimated that he had cashed about ,600 worth of orders. : :
