SMITH FOR PRESIDENT NEW YORK, N. Y., May 21. It was learned here through Charles C. Hellinger, who recently announced the formation of an Al Smith-for-President committee, that a movement is under way among Republicans to promote former-President Hoovers opponent for the G. O. P. nomination. Hellin-gers organization is non-partisan and claims a membership of 14,300 persons.
