MISSOURI GIRL, away in stride, raced clear early, continued under strong pressure, but was gradually giving way to NEWELS CHOICE at the end. The latter, a strong factor throughout, gained gradually and was overhauling the winner nearing the finish. LAURA S., "subjected to strong pressure after the start, forced the pace for a quarter mile, but lost ground gradually thereafter. COUNTESS BYE, under hard riding most of the trip, closed resolutely. ENAB had no excuse. GREAT MEADOWS began slowly and was outrun. CAPTAIN JEFFERS gave an improved effort. SUN VOTER raced poorly. CLASSIC DANCER raced greenly and was eased after a quarter mile. LEEORAN broke well, but appeared to sulk and pull himself up after an eighth. GREAT MEADOWS, LEEORAN and COUNTESS BYE delayed the start. Scratched 09863 Friendly Ann, 109; 09583 Kitty Kover, 114. ELINE NIELSEN improved her position gradually, overhauled MT. WASHINGTON in the closing stages, but Was no match for the winner. MT. WASHINGTON, away fast, attained a clear lead, which he maintained under occasional pressure, offered stubborn contention while submitting, but was not good enough. POLLYS FOLLY raced evenly without mishap. DANDY DAN was done early. The others were never dangerous. K1SSIE, ELINE NIELSEN and MAYREEN delayed the start. GAYMODE gave a good performance under a hustling ride. MAE LUBY began slowly, but closed strongly. MIM was racing in a contending position when she bolted and was outrun thereafter. GAY DAYS, under strong restraint early, gained gradually and could have been closer up. ON TRIAL had no excuse. BOB WEIDEL would not extend himself on the hard track. DON TASKER began slowly, moved up strongly after a half mile, challenged gamely, but was no menace for the first two. GRECIAN KING raced well under a hustling ride. DONIE tired after reaching contention. CABOTIN was outrun. PORT O PLAY was far back throughout. JUDGE URBAN quit under strong pressure. PRECOCIOUS was eased when eliminated.
