SAN YNEZ had the most early speed, bore out a trifle approaching the stretch turn, but retained command and. holding on well, barely missed. GOLDEX CRYSTAL suffered early interference, but closed ground when clear. LIOLELE handled his weight well and gained gradually on the outside to finish gamely, but pulled up a trifle lame. MARCLEAYE, taken back in the early running after being in close quarters on the first turn, came ftronIy when uned in the last half mile and, despite meeting with interference when DOUBLE FOUR bore out in the stretch, was going away at the end. DOUBLE FOUR was rushed into contention on the outside during the back stretch run, was then taken in hand and, hearing out when urged in the stretch, could not resist the winner. STOLEN COLOR opened up a good early lead while saving ground, but tired under punish-jnent in the stretch. TRITOMA could not keep up. The latter, improved and slow to begin, worked Iter way forward steadily, moved up with a rush after three-quarters and was wearing the winner down at the end. BUGABOO, under strong handling from the start, disposed of CAPTAIN RED after five-sixteenths, gave way to the winner and tired fast in the last eighth. CAPTAIN RED tired. ANCELOT had no mishaps.
