CAREFUL NELL raced well up from the start, came around the outside entering the stretch to catch SUE GRAFTON and drew out under urging in the final sixteenth to finish far in front. SUE GRAFTON stumbled at the start but held a forward position and took a short lead when WILLAIDE tired in the stretch. HOUR RAP made up ground steadily and was racing well at the finish. BUDDY CARLOS closed a gap. WILLAIDE tired badly "in the stretch. ELECTRESS WELLS was through after making a strong move on th outside approaching the stretch turn. ANSWER TRUE, prominent in the early part, had no excuse and tired in the stretch. LOW BALL and RIPOSO were in close quarters rounding the first turn and the latter lost all chance. MISS BALKO went to the front at once, opened up a good lead on the stretch turn and, showing a liking for the going, was never in danger thereafter. STAR SINGER was moving up to challenge approaching the stretch turn when she stumbled and almost fell, then quickly recovered and held second place to the Finish. BON RED saved ground in the stretch to finish fast and gamely. DANKE SCHON could not keep up in the early running, but finished fairly well. ALTOBANK was in close quarters approaching the stretch turn and she and VIEWPOINT raced very wide on the stretch turn. THIRD RACE 3-4 MILE Out of Chute. Manners Man, March 14, 19361:11-1106. BRILLIANT BABY had the most early speed and, sprinting to the front soon after the start, drew away from ROYAL CHEF after entering the stretch to win as her rider pleased. RAHWAY, well up from the start, improved his position in the stretch and was going gamely at the finish. HELENE MADISON came fast in the middle of the track in the stretch to outfinish ROYAL CHEF. The latter acted badly at the post, brok quickly from outside the stall gate and showed good speed to the stretch, then tired as if short. FORGET NOT, CHILLA LEE and SAN JOSE dropped back when the real racing began.- MAEANTIC and TUBAC wert taken up at the start by their timid riders and had little chance. Scratched 24257 Hobnail, 108.
