ALAWITT raced to the front soon after the start, took a good lead on the back stretch and, though swinging wide on the stretch turn, increased her advantage in the stretch to finish far in front. LOW BRIDGE raced close up, saved ground on the stretch turn and had enough left to hold GABBO safe. The latter was all over the track, being taken to the inside on the back stretch and in close quarters, then steered to the outside on the far turn to lose much ground and, though finishing fairly well, could not get up. CLEMENTE GIRL showed good early speed in the deep going. SWEEP QUICK did not appear to like the going and was never dangerous. NUGENT bore out badly on the far turn. DANFIELD dropped out of it when the real racing began. BARONDI was in close quarters on the back stretch. Scratched 24476 Sun Thrills, 112; 22009 Bertha Shot, 102; 21618 Moresure, 107.
