1 TROPICAL PARK TURF NOTES 8 A mixed car of fifteen horses, the property of A. G. Tarn, A. E. Silvers, G. S. Preece and A. G. Tumin will leave Monday for Narragansett Park for a campaign in the new England sector. The stable of J. E. Smallman, Canadian sportsman, will be shipped directly from Tropical Park to Woodbine Park, Toronto, Canada, on Tuesday in care of trainer George Alexandra. There are twenty horses in the consignment. Jockey R. Watson, who has undergone an operation for a foot ailment at Toronto, has fully recovered and will rejoin the stable. The Canadian-bred division of the stable will merge with the main band at that point. Cliff Porter, trainer for the Southland Stable, is sending ten of his charges to Jamaica for a campaign on Metropolitan tracks. Jockey Sonny Workman plans to leave for Bowie immediately after he fulfills his engagement astride Bright Plumage for his contract employer, C. V. Whitney in the Derby Consolation Stakes on Saturday. The horses of the Odessa Farm, trained by C. Hyde Smith will ship to Churchill Downs on Sunday. Jockey Hilton Dabson leaves for his home in Greensboro, Md., where he will rest for a few days before resuming saddle activities in Maryland. Due to a shortage of apprentice riders, no less than eight apprentice allowances were waived on Fridays program. Al Nunn, who has charge of stall allotments at Hialeah Park, plans to spend a belated two weeks honeymoon in Miami before returning to his home in Lexington. Jimmy Loftus, crack New York turf and magazine writer, will leave within a few days for New York. Loftus covered the sport throughout the Florida season, and will be located on the metropolitan circuit during the summer turf campaign. Ralph Mcllvain has cancelled his stall reservations in New York on account of the illness of his mother, who will undergo an operation in Louisville. Mcllvain will race his string in Kentucky. Jockey Johnny Pollard will leave Monday for Jamaica, where he has received several offers to ride throughout the metiopolitan season. Jockey Eddie Litzenberger, ace rider for the Maemere Farm, leaves for New York to take up his saddle duties.
