1 ARLINGTON DOWNS NOTES - . $ The R. W. Perkins horses and Sun Monk, the property of Mrs. Edward Anthony, will accompany the J. B. Partridge string to Jamaica next week. Trav Daniel, resident manager at Arlington Downs, who has been ailing since the start of the meeting, continues to improve and on Saturday put in a full working day of fifteen hours. "It wont be long before I am able to go the full route of twenty-four hours, which is my usual stint during our racing meetings in the spring and fall," commented Daniel. Joe Barr, whose "dead pan" countenance broke into a real wide smile on opening day at Arlington Downs, continues to manifest delight over the mutuel play. "I told you so at the start that we would have the biggest and finest meeting since the resumption of racing in the Lone Star state and my prediction is being substantiated," said Joe. Claraboya, two-year-old by Mars and Insignia, in the King Ranch Stable, succumbed to an attack of shipping fever Saturday morning. Albert Sabath, president of the Chicago Business Mens Racing Association, notified Joe Wolken that he expected to arrive here Sunday for an extended visit. Jockey Charley Kurtsinger, who handled He Did in his public workout Saturday afternoon, announced that he will resume riding Monday. Kurtsinger suffered a broken collar bone in a spill at Santa Anita. Charles J. McLennan has compiled conditions for the last nine days of the meeting and they will be released in due course. McLennan leaves here Sunday for Baltimore to take over his duties as racing secretary at Havre de Grace. Nominations for the ,000 added Frontier Exposition Handicap, which was formerly the Dallas Spring Handicap, closed Saturday. The rich stakes to be decided at one mile and a sixteenth, and open to three-year-olds and upward, will feature next Saturdays program. Jockey Leo Jones arrived from Hot Springs and will ride free lance for the remainder of the meeting. Mickey Fernandez, who sold the contract he held on R. Kastner, arrived from Miami. Edward Haughton will ship his large stable to Narragansett Park at the close of this meeting. Lloyd Gentry is considering sending a division of his large stable to Louisville next week. I
