BAY SALUTE broke quickly, was in close quarters on the inside of MIGNON after being headed by the latter, but came to the outside in the stretch to stand a hard drive gamely and win under urging. MIGNON opened up a good lead approaching the stretch turn and saved ground in the stretch, but was tiring at the finish. LADY VALOROUS improved her position under urging and was going well at the finish. SWEET MYSTERY lacked early speed but closed some ground. PANATELA stopped badly. PATTY JEAN raced greenly. RAPID MORTGAGE broke quickly and punished after going a quarter drew into a long lead when THOUGHTFUL began to tire, but weakened near the end and was doing her best to hold RED CASINO. The latter improved his position under hard riding and was gainging rapidly at the end. ROSE CRYSTAL was always well up and went gamely to the finish. THOUGHTFUL was closest to the winner in the early Tunning and weakened in the stretch. GOLDEN CRYSTAL was forced back when caught in close quarters foon after the start and was badly outrun thereafter. MORCHARM displayed some early speed. EDDY-STONE broke down and was pulled up. TOTNESS "took a good lead leaving the back stretch, but weakened under punishment in the final furlong. DANFIELD was taken up when in close quarters on the far turn, but came again in the stretch to best the others. UNCLE GUS closed some ground. SHEPS CHANCE showed a flash of early speed. CHATTER QUEEN, ased back when she lacked the early speed to keep up with the leaders, was permitted to drop too far out of It and, although making up ground in the stretch, never threatened the first two. GOOD POLITIAN made !PP ground and was going well at the end.
