I JAMAICA TURF NOTES $ The horses owned by King Ranch, which raced in Texas during the past season, arrived at Belmont Park consigned to Max Hirsch. Val Crane of Chicago was the owner of Young Native for a few minutes Thursday. He purchased the colt from the Brook-meade Stable, only to lose him via the claiming route to Hugh W. Jackson. Crane agreed to take the horse from trainer R. A. Smith following the race and immediately after the finish presented his check in payment. Then he learned that the colt had been claimed. Bold Venture, M. L. Schwartz Kentucky Derby hope, is the first of the eastern representatives to leave for the West. A car was ordered following his trial over the training track. He worked a mile and a quarter in 2:10, with the fractional time as follows: :50, 1:16, 1:42 and 2:10. Jockeys B. Fels and H. Manifold checked in and will accept mounts this week. Charles Fox, veteran racing man and former owner, is near death in Kings County Hospital. Frank Clark, who drops the recall flag, was discharged from St. Marys Hospital, Brooklyn, Thursday, after an operation. Bookmakers positions in the ring were drawn by ringmaster Cavanagh, and the new positions "will be changed six paces each day until the next cut-in, one week later. Miss Judy Johnson, with Xativich and three other horses, arrived at Belmont Park from Maryland. The" G. D. Widener horses in charge of W. Mulholland arrived at Belmont Park. Jockeys J. Hunter and R. Boyer accompanied the shipment. At private terms R. A. Mason purchased from Dorwood Stable the two-year-old Road Knight and turned him over to C. Winfrey to train. Trainer James Fitzsimmons brought over; from Aqueduct the Wheatley Stables Teufel and Belair Studs Granville to acquaint them with the paddock and surroundings as part of their education for future racing. Adolph Pons was among the visitors, and will remain over for the Wood Memorial.1
