AT POST 5 -J minutes. Start good and slow. Won driving; second and third the same. EXAGGERATION, prominent from the beginning, rallied gamely in the last quarter mile and closing stoutly wore down DIXIE DORA in the closing eighth to win under hard urging. DIXIE DORA outran her field for the first turn, went along under slight restraint while setting the pace, saved ground, but failed to withstand the winner when placed to punishment. DROLL STORY, close up from the beginning, made repeated efforts and held on gamely. CORVUS could not improve its position in the late stages. STACK ARMS began tiring after three-quarters. SUMAC improved its position steadily, but could not menace the leaders. BLOND JESTER was never dangerous. ROYAL BALLAD showed a dull effort. EJECTOR, a keen factor from the beginning, responded to punishment to wear down CATHY P. when straightened into the stretch, was kept under stout urging, and came out slowly at the finish. CATHY P. showed good speed while setting the pace, saved ground and continued gamely when the real test came. WHITE SWEETS held a forward position all during the running, but could not threaten the leaders. PASS EM BY broke fast but would not extend himself in the early racing. He. was taken to the outside and came with good speed in the late stages. SILVER PALM went evenly. GAUL was outrun. SCOUT PLANE was done after three-sixteenths. REDLEY.. following closest to the pacemaker from the beginning, responded readily when shaken up in the last five-sixteenths, withstood a drive willingly and came out gradually after disposing of GOLDEN HIND in the last eighth. DAINGER. LEWIS settled in his stride after the opening eighth, swung to the outside and finished resolutely. GOLDEN HIND displayed Keen speed to move into a clear lead early, saved ground all the way, but tired suddenly in the last eighth. FIGHT TALK raced on the outside from the beginning, made a wide turn into the stretch, then closed stoutly when straightened out. BETTER FORGET finished with a belated rush while weaving his way between horses. MISS MARED closed a good gap. BLUE ALICE was unable to enter contention. GOLD CLIP was done after five-eighths. DARK HOPE, reserved off the fast early pace but within reach of the leaders, responded well under vigorous handling, when called upon disposed of ACCOLADE entering the stretch and was up in the final stride. DANCING DOLL had keen early speed to set the pace from the start, saved ground throughout and just failed to last. ACCOLADE forced the early pace, but weakened from his efforts and was tiring. PALAMEDE raced evenly but could never get up. FIRETHORN lacked speed to keep up in the early racing, but closed some ground in the final eighth. OFFICIAL weakened early. The latter, kept within striking distance of the leaders, responded gamely when put to a drive and Finished courageously. NIGHT CAP was used up racing with MAXINE F. and failed to menace when the real test came. MAXINE F. had good speed for seven-eighths, then weakened. KINDACORN, reserved from the early pace, moved up readily when called upon and continued gamely. SPARKY, always s contender, was given a respite on the final turn and closed with good speed. HOOPS lacked early speed, gradually improved his position after a half mile while racing on the outside and closed stoutly. MANAGER BILL had speed but tired badly.
