NEW CHUTE FOR ARLINGTON ARLINGTON, Texas, April 24. E. Paul Waggoner, who is leaving for Louisville Sunday, today instructed Jack Hayes, superintendent at Arlington Downs, to start immediately after the close of the meeting to completely renovate the track. Before the spring meeting opened, three thousand yards of new dirt was placed on the track, but the unusual lack of rain for this period of the year did not give it an opportunity to mix, and some of it was lost in the heavy winds which have prevailed. The changes contemplated by superintendent Hayes will be the placing of an additional three thousand yards of new top soil on the racing strip and probably sowing it down in oats or rye to hold it until the. fall meeting. In addition to this a chute running back from the main track will be built which will enable the racing secretary to give in addition to six furlongs races, six and a half and seven furlongs races with only one turn for the horses racing over it.
