WISE KING forced the pace of the winner throughout, made a bold effort to come through on the inside ncaring the stretch and, though unable to head the pacemaker, fought it out courageously. SUN ABBOT. un:.ble to keep up earlv, improved his position steadily and closed stoutly through the stretch. SADIE F.. showing a liking for the going, took immediate command, drew clear after meeting an early-bid from BLACK MISTRESS, was given a breathing spell after leaving the hack slretch and drew Bat under urging. MIELETTA, unable to keep up early, finished going gamely. BLACK MISTRESS, in nearest pursuit of the Burner for most of the way, moved up briefly when making her effort midway of the turn, but faltered through the list three sixteenths. LADY HOCKBERGER was away well, dropped back, came to the outside in the stretch and finished going gamelv. getting up in the closinc strides to wear down CATCHALL. The latter, never far from the pace, held on well to the close though unable to make up ground under punishment. MASKED REVUE drove through on the inside at the stretch turn, loomed up menacingly, only to falter in the drive. DORNOCH was never a serious factor. BOSTON BROOK was always well up and closed stoutly on the inside to gain the lead, but hung right at the close. PARTY SPIRIT rushed up fast in the first quarter, made a determined effort, but was unable to improve his position in the final drive. HAPPY HELEN went well placed, though never a threat to the leaders. DON GUZMAN lacked speed to keep pace. COLONEL ED was far back all the way and apparently did not fancy the footing.
